Although a powerful speech can be influential, writing lasts forever. I can often learn more about those who are dead, then those around me, just because they wrote more. Writing lasts forever, so long as you [[Slack encourages dumping|store it properly.]]
Some good examples are the Bible & Book of Mormon, these books have been written thousands of years ago, yet we still easily find the information in them.
Organizations like Basecamp who've written many books like Shape Up and Getting Real, and kept a blog for a very long time. Also, probably helps that Basecamp is like a Town, so they write a lot internally.
Gitlab also has this with their handbook, which spans thousands of pages.
