This is a behavior when you realize that you don't have enough time anymore to read everything in Slack anymore so instead you do a good ol' CMD-ESC and clear all your notifications. Sure you might miss something important, but at least you finally have peace and you've lowered the Stress of Group Chat.
Zulip does a good job at handling this!
