Slack is only better than what you already know
People's arguments for slack seem to focus around, "Well it's better than Email at least!" Or "We used to use a whatsapp group and this is way better". That's like saying a root canal is better than extraction with a set of differently sized pliers. I mean it is... but it's still not ideal. (ref)
