Guilt of Backlogs
Itās unbelievable how often the word āguiltā comes up when talking to people who do issue-based, reactive work.
Thereās more work than time, the work comes from other people, and itās hard to ignore it, delete it, or say āno.ā
Long lists or backlogs arenāt inherently bad.
What makes them bad is the feeling of guilt when you see all these issues you couldnāt solve or fix, and you know there will never be time for them.
There's always more time than work than time and backlogs constantly remind you of that. It's a large wall of constant dissatisfaction.
